Nvidia GeForce Driver v364.47 Wreaks Havoc On Video Cards

And I thought switching from AMD was going to make installing drivers simpler.

Nvidia's latest v364.47 drivers, released this morning, have put quite a few cards out of commission, at least temporarily. A ton of error reports were sent into Nvidia with complaints of stuttering, black screens, blue screens, and infinite boot loops. In response Nvidia has pulled the v364.47 drivers from their servers.

Nvidia's statement regarding the issue suggested the problem "was related to doing an "Express" installation." Nvidia suggests for anyone that has a pending installation of driver v364.47 not to install it, and either install the new v364.51 beta driver or wait for the WHQL certified version of v364.47.

"was related to doing and "Express" installtion." Nvidia could at least hire some editors.

Bad driver was released yesterday, not today.

Is it just me, or does Brittany seem to just post and run? Never looks back at comments for feedback or corrections. Like she didn't put the links for the file in the story about the Overload teaser.

nope, I've noticed that too. I don't think I've ever seen her post in the chatty unless she's using a handle instead of her name.

She has posted a couple times that I've noticed, but is otherwise not engaged in any response to her "articles". This one feels like it was really a re-post from something she read (feed) and didn't realize the date context of the headline.

I did a custom install yesterday (deselected the 3d stuff) and got a crash during the installation and then stuck in boot loop.

I used a windows restore point and now the PC is working again but Im staying away from updating the drivers.

Guess I got lucky. No issues here though I did unplug my second monitor during install just to be safe(r)

I installed this update (through Geforce Experience app) and nothing bad happened. But I ended rolling back anyway because Geforce Experience pushed the rollback.

What the hell, Nvidia? Your drivers were rock solid for years and years, but lately they've gone to shit.

This is why I don't like updating Nvidia drivers...
