The Flame in the Flood is coming out next week, so the latest video from The Molasses Flood is teaching users how to use some of its variety of traps.

Thus far, The Flame in the Flood has taught us that ravens attract wolves, fire can scare those wolves off, and bears... well, bears are jerks. So what is The Molasses Flood teaching players about its survival game today? How about some more harsh lessons about wildlife and what it means to forage for food?

The latest video for The Flame in the Flood revolves around some of the tools that players will be using to hunt for wildlife. While players will have primitive weaponry available to them, they can also set up different kinds of traps, like snares, boxes, and spear traps. These can be used to catch different kinds of animals to use for food or general inventory supplies.

To get an idea of how these traps will function, check out the video below. Just don't attempt to use them on bears. Bears are jerks. The Flame in the Flood arrives next week on Xbox One and launches on PC, though the Steam Early Access version is available right now.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
