Shakedown Hawaii 3DS teaser shows more 8-bit GTA-style chaos

Developer VBlank Entertainment wrapped up its 2015 by unveiling the upcoming sequel to Retro City Rampage, called Shakedown Hawaii. As it looks to wrap up this follow-up to the 8-bit Grand Theft Auto-style romp, a new teaser trailer was released to give players an idea of what's coming to the 3DS.

In terms of story and gameplay details, this new teaser doesn't add much to the original. It further establishes the atmosphere of going from a bustling metropolitan city to a tourist resort town, while retaining the top-down shooting and drive-by chaos of the original Retro City Rampage. VBlank Entertainment is not revealing the full story details at this time, but notes that there will be "much more to it than the driving and shooting."

While the trailer below shows what Shakedown Hawaii will look like on Nintendo 3DS, the game is also set to hit PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
