Get Your Street Fighter V Post-Launch and Story Deets Right Here

You da real Punch Club, Street Fighter V.

Good news, Street Fighter fans. Capcom has come forth with some additional information surrounding Street Fighter V's upcoming story mode and post-launch plans for the game. With only a couple weeks left until the February 16 release, it's good to be in the know if you plan on buying the game, and of course you do. We all do.

Street Fighter V will feature individual character stories that explore each of the brawlers' background information, roles in the game, and relationships with the rest of the crew. Japanese illustrator Bengus (and Street Fighter veteran) has provided the art for these tales, which will set the stage for the Street Fighter V cinematic story expansion that's coming out in June as a free downloadable update.

The story in said expansion will take place between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III to act as a bridge between the two games, making the expansion a franchise first as far as a cinematic experiene goes.

Beyond that, players can earn Fight Money in-game to buy additional characters and more after finishing each story and the single-player content available. When the game comes out, there won't be any DLC to purchase using Fight Money or real currency (Zenny), so post-launch content will all be hitting in March.

If that's not enough to tide you over, the fourth beta for Street Fighter V is coming up in just a few days, running from January 30 through January 31 for one last swing at victory.

There's lots of Street Fighter goodness coming down the pipeline. Excuse me while I go hyperventilate about it for a good hour or two.
