Overkill's The Walking Dead release delayed to H2 2017

We assume the delay is due to actual the use of actual Walkers to help develop the game. Get it? Because they're slow. Ahhhh....

Overkill’s The Walking Dead has been delayed and is now expected to be released sometime in the second half of 2017, Starbreeze has announced today.

Starbreeze explains the reason for the delay was to move forward with its plans to expand the title with more content, as well as to continue developing an Asian version which it plans to launch simultaneously with the western version. The company says its partners are convinced a simultaneous release will “pave the way to success, maximize revenues and cement it as a tent pole product for the next decade.”

We learned about Overkill’s The Walking Dead back in August 2014, although details surrounding the game have been quite scarce, even after we went eyes-on with both the game and StarVR during E3 2015.

Now that Overkill’s The Walking Dead is receiving quite the lengthy delay, we’re hoping we can learn more about the game in the coming months as we’re still hopeful the team behind the Payday series can deliver a worthwhile experience.
