Following an amazing reverse boss order run on Super Metroid and an informative and lengthy run on Final Fantasy IV, Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 has ended. Games Done Quick holds these week-long events biannually in an effort to raise money for cancer prevention and research. This week's festivities have ended with the nonprofit organization raising a total of $1,208,022.

For Games Done Quick events, speed runners gather together for individual runs of classic and modern games. These runs are mixed in with speed run races, blind runs, races, and other gimmicks to entertain a captive audience. Among the most memorable runs to take place during the week was the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! blindfold race. Catch that below.

Games Done Quick will return with Summer Games Done Quick 2016 from July 3-9 and will be held from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
