Two New Xbox One Bundles May Sway You To Finally Make That Purchase

Now might be the time you want to take the plunge.

Been looking to pull the trigger on a new Xbox One? These new bundles may sweeten the deal for you.

Microsoft is adding two Xbox One bundles to its lineup with one themed around Rainbow Six and the other a "Name Your Game" bundle. The Rainbow Six bundle will retail for $400 and will come with a 1 TB system as well as a copy of Rainbow Six Siege. It also packs digital copies of Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 into the mix for good measure.

Meanwhile, the "Name Your Game" bundle comes with a 500 GB system and your choice of one of four Xbox One titles: Forza Motorsport 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, or Rare Replay. They're all digital versions, but with 500 GB you should have plenty of space to not have to worry about filling up the hard drive so quickly.

The Rainbow Six Siege bundle is shipping today around the world except for Belgium, China, France, Japan and the Netherlands, where the "Name Your Game" bundle is shipping in late January.

I wish that name your game one had been out around the holidays. That would have saved me some money.

Actually between Thanksgiving and Christmas the Microsoft Store had some of the best deals for the Xbox One. I was able for $349 get a 1TB XBox One that include Gears of War/Rare Replay and a bonus game of my choice and $60 gift card. Granted those were limited sales but they did happen for the holidays.

The non-holiday price has been $349 for 500gb plus a game (depending on the time of year), and $399 for 1TB with a game. Both Sony and MS are running at the same price points right now, and did through the holidays as well (though each were $50 cheaper).

I picked up the basic Gears of War bundle yesterday for $320. Having a couple friends buy the box over the holiday is what really pushed me over the edge. Now to save my pennies for the elite controller.

        The elite controller is fantastic.

I almost bought the Elite bundle just to get it sooner, but I missed it when it hit $450.

I filled 500 GB so quickly. It's really annoying how it didn't come out at release with 1 TB.

It's got the easiest storage upgrade path of any console ever made, not sure what the issue is here.

Yup! I picked up that 1TB 7200rpm USB3 drive you mentioned in one of the podcasts/mailbags and it was a snap to get working.

Truth. The PS4 has an easily replaceable internal HDD with no external options, whereas the XB1 is the reverse.

I'm aware PS4 can back up to external media, but damn I wish they had external media as a playable format.

I don't know what you are using but my external has one thin wire, is virtually silent and the heat is negligible.

Mine is powered from the Xbone over USB3.

I am enjoying mine quite a bit. Forza is tons of fun, Tomb Raider is fucking amazing, and Madden looks great. Now I didn't have to deal with the original UI. I've only had my Xbone since the new user experience came out.

Tell me this is directly from a press release or something.

This reads like an advertisement with bullshit lines like "They're all digital versions, but with 500 GB you should have plenty of space to not have to worry about filling up the hard drive so quickly."

500 GB is the smallest HDD size that's been offered this generation, and has been there from day one. This reads like 500 GB is a new feature or something. Space on both these systems is at a premium, and if you buy even a few games a year, especially with PS+/GwG, you're going to fill 500 GB really fast.

If only the Xbone wasn't such an awful product. Probably my most regretted purchase ever.

I really like mine. Use it all the time mainly as a tv box. I like the Kinect for voice commands, how I can cast videos from YouTube and Netflix form my phone, and easily play video files from Windows too. It has its quirks, but it's been a great investment for me.

I play games on it too. Forza Horizon 2 is my dream racing game. I've wanted something like it since playing the straight tracks on the old NFS games.

This seems like a bit of a stretch. I use mine all the time. I'm very happy with it.

I have to will myself to turn it on. If I didn't have friends that only own an Xbone then I would have sold it off long ago. The controller has been great though after I bought that PC adapter.

The controller is great, better than the DS4 and on par with the Wii U pro controller. The rest of the XBone isn't so hot.

The XBox UI thing kind of blows me away, its been a continuous regression for five years now.

I'd buy a Xbone if it had more JRPGs. They're all PS4 exclusive.
