For Christmas, Kingdom Hearts fans are getting a brand new trailer, highlighting both upcoming KH projects for Square Enix.

For Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, the trailer begins with Yen Sid addressing King Mickey, Riku, and Kairi, noting that they must once again find the three main characters of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. That would be Ventus, Terra, and Aqua, the latter of which takes a starring role in a special Birth by Sleep epilogue. That leads into the rest of the game's content, which includes a special mystery called Kingdom Hearts Unchained X [chi] and the 3DS hit from 2011 known as Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, which is the final piece of the story leading into Kingdom Hearts 3.

Oh, and speaking of that...

More bits of pieces of Kingdom Hearts III were revealed, including elements of the new Tangled world and the next iteration of the Agrabah stage. This also offers up the first look at the Astro Blasters ability, which puts Sora and crew on the Disneyland ride of the same name and has them shooting at enemies.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts 3 have a release date of... ha, almost had you there for a second! No, of course there isn't a release date anywhere. These are merely "in development," so once again, stay tuned.

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
