XCOM 2 Deluxe Edition announced; post-launch DLC outlined

2K and Firaxis Games have announced the XCOM 2 Deluxe Edition as well as what we can expect in terms of post-launch content for the game.

2K and Firaxis Games have revealed a deluxe edition for XCOM 2 is now available for purchase and have also announced the title’s upcoming DLC.

The XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition retails for $74.99 and includes the full base game, the XCOM 2 Reinforcement Pack, and the title’s digital soundtrack.

Those who pre-order either the deluxe or standard editions of XCOM 2 will receive the Resistance Warrior Pack. The pack includes additional soldier customization options such as bonus outfits, headgear, and custom facial war paint. The pack also includes a “Survivor of the Old War” XCOM recruit who will be available in the Avenger’s barracks.

As for XCOM 2’s upcoming downloadable content, the Reinforcement Pack, which can be purchased separately for $19.99, includes the following pieces of post-launch content:

  • Anarchy’s Children: featuring rebellion-themed content with more dramatic soldier customizations (releasing spring 2016);
  • Alien Hunters: introducing new gameplay surrounding XCOM as an elite alien hunting unit tracking down “Ruler” aliens, along with a new mission, soldier customization options and more powerful weapons and armor (releasing summer 2016);
  • Shen’s Last Gift: offering a brand new soldier class with unique upgradeable weapons, armor and customization features, as well as an additional narrative-driven mission and map (releasing summer 2016).

XCOM 2 was originally planned for a November 2015 release, but was delayed and is now scheduled to be released on February 5, 2016 exclusively on PC.
