On the first day of Christmas, our true loves give to us a partride in a pear tree. Devolver Digital and developer Mediatonic are looking to deliver partridges a little sooner, along with doves, pigeons, and a slew of other cuddly birds. The two announced that Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star, the follow-up to the oddball original, will debut next week on PC, with the PS4 and Vita versions arriving in time for the holidays.

As the title implies, Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star features a story that centers around the holiday season. Players will travel the world to meet new talking birds, make new friends, and kick off some new romances. Because of course, everyone should be reminded that Hatoful Boyfriend is, in fact, a pigeon dating simulator. That certainly is a premise this writer still hasn't gotten used to. Also, this game features birds riding a tank, because... ... ... of course it does. I'm not making this up, I swear. Look at this!

To get an idea of how this holiday tale will unfold, check out the video below. Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star will release on Steam on December 15, while the PS4 and Vita versions will arrive on December 22.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
