It's been a long time coming, but in the world of the folks at the Ultra Combo forums, "Shadow Jago is a real boy now." Today's Killer Instinct update finally makes Shadow Jago his own man, paying off months of community effort.

Back in April, the sinister darker doppelganger of Jago was offered for a limited time, as part of a charity effort. Iron Galaxy and Microsoft Game Studios had indicated that the character would be made a permanent unlockable if they surpassed $100,000 in their fundraising efforts, which they easily did. Details on Shadow Jago were then revealed at Evo 2015 earlier this year, leading up to today's patch.

The aforementioned UI update will also make its way to today's patch, along with the usual bug fixes and balance tweaks. To check out what's coming, visit the Ultra Combo forums. The patch is expected to go live today at 7PM EST.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
