Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time has ventured across the ages, but it has yet to travel back into the prehistoric ages. That's about to age with the day's latest update. 'Jurassic Marsh Part One' will add some new units to the battle, while also preparing for a 12-day mega event set to launch tomorrow.

Jurassic Marsh introduces the Primal Peashooter, which can stun zombies; the Primal Wall-nut, which protects against zombie onslaughts; and the Grapeshot, which explodes and scatters bouncing projectiles. Dinosaurs will also join the battle, including the Raptor, Stegosaurus, and Pterodactyl, each with their own distinct abilities. Players will also find 16 new levels, including a new Gargantuar Battle, to help keep them occupied.

Tomorrow's Food Fight event will introduce 12 straight days of bonuses. That includes new plant and zombie costumes, but also features new Special Edition Premium Plants. Sweet Potato and Dandelion will only be around for a limited time, but they should help immensely with the autumn-themed zombies that will be on the attack, like Turkey Zombie, Gobbler King Zombie, and Chefster Zombie.

The Jurassic Marsh Part One update should be up and running now. For those that don't own Plants vs. Zombies 2, it's available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
