Broforce muscles out of Steam Early Access next week

October is about to become Oct-bro-ber, because Broforce has become just too strong for Steam Early Access. The 2D shooter from Free Lives now has an official release date, as the bros prepare to face the lord of darkness himself.

Broforce is on the verge of getting another update, but there was something different about yesterday's announcement. This no mere update. This is the big one. Broforce has finally become just too bro-werful for Steam Early Access and is finally set for a full launch on Oct-bro-ber 15.

The big launch update will include a new set of campaign missions, as well as a final endgame. The power of 'MURICA will go into the very belly of the beast and take on Satan himself. The launch version will also bring together nearly two years of updates (and nearly two years of "bro" puns) into one neat little package, one that includes competitive and cooperative online multiplayer.

Broforce gets its full Steam release on October 15, but for those that absolutely must have it now (That's the American way, you know!), it's currently available on Steam Early Access. But America rules far too hard for it to be kept to one platform, so look for Broforce to also come to PlayStation 4 in 2016. A power ballad is the only way to commemorate this announcement, so check it out below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Nice! I stopped playing 6 months ago because I didn't want to ruin the release.

They will always be a thing, because indie game development is more accessible than ever and the art/music/gameplay are all much cheaper for these types of games.

They've been releasing some Metal Slug games on steam with online play and all that. For a newer game in that vein there is Mercenary Kings, but it's more like a 2D shooter Monster Hunter lite, you revisit the same levels and obtain materials to craft new weapons, and then go into levels and take on harder missions. It's weird. Also has 4 player coop I believe.
