October is here and that means it's almost time for Halloween. It's usually the MMORPG that celebrates the season, but there are other games that also like to get in on the fun. This year, Rocket League will be among them, with new Halloween-themed items dropping on October 18.

PlayStation.Blog has all the details. Anyone that participates in a Rocket League match, win or lose, can pick up the Calavera antenna, Candy Corn rocket trail, Carriage wheels, Fuzzy Brute antenna, Fuzzy Vampire antenna, or Pumpkin topper to create their own version of Hell on wheels.

The announcement comes just ahead of next week's Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC, but the Halloween items will be made available for no extra charge. Players will only have until November 2 to earn these items before they fade into the night.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
