Rising Thunder adds custom matches and lobbies

Those currently playing Rising Thunder will now be able to do so with friends, thanks to the technical alpha's latest update.

Rising Thunder's technical alpha continues to move along smoothly. It's gone along so well that Radiant Entertainment is ready to introduce the next big step for multiplayer and that's the addition of custom lobbies. This means players can now arrange to play Rising Thunder against their friends.

The latest patch notes for build 1341 note that one must simply click on Custom Match to create a lobby. Friends can then jump in by inputting the lobby code. Lobbies are restricted to two players for the moment.

Other changes include a new S2 variant for Edge called Reckless Lightning, some performance improvements, and various bug changes. The full list of changes can be found on the Rising Thunder website. And don't forget that the technical is now open to everyone.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
