PlayStation Magic Labs director discusses the growth of Morpheus

PlayStation is preparing its salvo into the virtual reality battleground with Morpheus. Shacknews recently had a chance to ask about the Sony VR peripheral and its progress.

Virtual reality is the next big battleground in video games and Sony is preparing to take the field with its own Morpheus peripheral. To learn more about it, Shacknews had the opportunity to talk to the director of PlayStation Magic Labs, Richard Marks, at E3 2015.

"It's funny, because almost every genre is being explored in VR that already exists and some new kinds of games, too," Marks told Shacknews' John Gaudiosi. "So it isn't just one kind of thing makes sense for VR. It's really all the different game genres, but some reinvented for VR, I would say."

Marks goes on to list a number of the Morpheus games on display, including the online multiplayer Rigs, Super Hyper Cube, the Harmonix music visualizer, and more. Check out the full interview below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
