Sony may have accidentally outed the release date of the PlayStation 4 version of Journey.

Update: Sony has confirmed Journey will be released on PlayStation 4 on July 21 and will be cross-buy compatible. This means if you've digitally purchased the game on the PS3, you'll be able to download it for free on PS4. We've also added its official trailer below.]

Original story:

Journey is expected to get its PlayStation 4 release on July 21, according to Sony’s Docs for PlayStation website.

The website revealed the July 21 release date in addition to housing its digital manual and game guides. Journey is also said to currently be in beta, which started on June 24.

It was previously reported the PS4 version of Journey would be released as a part of a ThatGameCompany compilation which would include FlOw and Flower. The three games would be remastered to take advantage of the console’s extra horsepower by running at 1080p and 60fps. Whether or not that will still hold true now that Journey’s release date has apparently been released is unknown, but at least we can look forward to one of our favorite games of 2012 to be made available on a new platform.

But Flower is already on PS4 at 1080p/60. I'd hate to have to double-dip just to get Journey.

Excellent! This is another one of those games I always wanted to play, but didn't because of not having a PS3. I know a lot of people are getting sick of these remakes.... I'm eating them up! I'm very happy with my choice of 360 to PS4. Perfect transition to catch a bit of everything I guess.

Ditto, I'll grab it for sure mainly because silentbobuk says it's awesome on a regular basis

As long as you are the sort of gamer that likes emotion in a game, then this is for you. Once you get on and meet another player and you bond there is no feeling like it. No other game has been able to replicate this bond (very well) that you get with a complete stranger that you can't even talk to. If you go out to play this game solo you will be missing out on a HUGE chunk of the potential of Journey. I have played through it many times on PS3 and it still makes me smile every time.
