Shacknews had the opportunity to check out how much bigger Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog were looking to make the next Shadow Warrior during a brief demo at E3 2015. Of course, seeing is often believing, so if those impressions weren't enough to generate some excitement for Lo Wang's next adventure, Devolver Digital has released 15 minutes of Shadow Warrior 2 gameplay footage taken from E3.

This gameplay video shows off some of the new landscapes on display in Shadow Warrior 2. Those that have played the first game will immediately notice that the level design is far more open than the original game. It also reveals some of the new non-linear mission structure, Wang's new climbing and stealth abilities, and many of the updated visual features of the in-house Road Hog engine.

Check out the full video below. Shadow Warrior 2 is set to release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in 2016.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
