Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition cancelled days prior to release

We're just a few days from the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, but Warner Bros. is unfortunately cancelling the game's Batmobile Edition.

The Batmobile Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight has been cancelled, according to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Warner Bros. released the following statement regarding the cancellation:

Dear Batman: Arkham Fans,

We regret to inform you that we are not able to release the Batmobile Collector’s Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight due to unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of this extremely limited run of product. We are deeply apologetic for this unfortunate outcome. If you did pre-order the Batmobile Collector’s Edition, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the product and you will receive a full refund of your deposit or it can be rolled over to another Batman: Arkham Knight edition or another product of your choice. We will be providing everyone who purchases Batman: Arkham Knight with the New 52 skin pack, including Batman, Robin and Nightwing, free of charge.

Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition retailed for $199.99 and included a unique steelbook case that included the game, and 80 page artbook, a limited-edition comic book, three unique skins from DC Comics’ New 52 series, and a Batmobile statue by Project Triforce.

It’s unfortunate to hear such a cool-sounding collector’s edition as the Batmobile Edition had to be cancelled, especially when we’re literally days away from Arkham Knight’s release. Although, at least those of you who pre-ordered this edition will be $200 bucks richer, although you also won’t be getting a really cool Batmobile statue that we’re sure you made space on your desk for.

Must be something like that. Probably had to cut their losses before dealing with massive incident of people complaining about how it looked nothing like the mockup. Or who knows, maybe the manufacturer couldn't meet the deadline or the factory blew up.

I was thinking along the lines that the molds weren't coming out clean and took much touch-up work to meet the deadline. Kinda the same thing. Still a QC issue.

Super weird that they're canning it this close to release.
