Rocket League on PS4 will get Sweet Tooth's ice cream truck

While PlayStation 4 and PC are set to get the same Rocket League game (enough for cross-play sessions), the former will get one little extra. It'll get the iconic ice cream truck from Twisted Metal.

Rocket League is the type of game that doesn't normally worry about "characters," since it's basically a blend of soccer and rocket-powered super cars. Psyonix doesn't need to add characters, since the cars are all the characters they need. But just try looking into the painted face of evil and saying "No."

With that said, Rocket League has announced a new exclusive car for the game's PlayStation 4 version. It's the iconic ice cream truck from Twisted Metal, the one driven by psychotically homicidal clown Sweet Tooth. As noted in our preview from a few weeks ago, there are no special advantages to using Sweet Tooth's ride. As cool as it looks, it's a cosmetic addition for the game's PlayStation audience.

You can watch Sweet Tooth's ride in action, as well some of Rocket League's other features, in the video below. Rocket League is set to release on July 7 on PlayStation 4 and PC, with online cross-play available across both platforms.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
