Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash and new Amiibo whip into adventure in October

The Chibi-Robo! franchise is back and it'll hit 3DS in October with Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash. And of course, it just wouldn't be right if this miniature character didn't get his own Amiibo.

Nintendo started off June in a huge way, announcing a massive slew of games. One of them includes a brand new installment of the Chibi-Robo franchise called Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash. This is the first Chibi-Robo to hit the 3DS since the 3DS eShop-exclusive Chibi-Robo!: Photo Finder from 2013.

This Nintendo 3DS effort will see players take Chibi-Robo on a side-scrolling adventure. He'll take advantage of the fact that he's a plug-in robot and use his cord to whip enemies into oblivion. He can also use his plug to swing across platforms, as well as solve puzzles.

Given that Chibi-Robo is a tiny robot, it's almost a no-brainer that Nintendo will also develop an Amiibo for the character, as well. Using the Amiibo in conjunction with Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash will turn the character into Super Chibi-Robo for certain stages, while also saving high scores to the figure. These high scores will then unlock various items and extras.

Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash and the Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash Amiibo bundle are set to release on 3DS in October. More information about the Chibi-Robo Amiibo is coming soon.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
