Need for Speed 2015 to be revealed this week

This year's Need for Speed is expected to finally make its debut prior to the start of E3, EA announced today.

The Need for Speed series has been annualized for several years now, but took off last year in order to offer a “highly innovative” title for 2015. We’re well into 2015, and today, Electronic Arts has announced they’re ready to rev up the Need for Speed engine by unveiling the game on May 21.

EA updated its Need for Speed Facebook page today with an image saying it will offer a peek at the next game in the series on YouTube on Thursday. The image shows two street cars racing through a city, which gives us an indication we may be seeing a new entry in the Need for Speed Underground series, or at least something along those lines.

EA revealed it would be releasing this new Need for Speed game during the 2015 holiday season, along with a new Plants vs. Zombies and Mirror’s Edge 2, earlier this month during an earnings report call. While they’ll be offering a peek at the game this week, we have a feeling they’ll be holding much of the game’s information until their E3 press briefing since they’ll have the attention of gamers around the world at that time.
