There’s no doubt that there are plenty of good movies out there, however, the list of games based upon those movies is relatively short. Greg’s muddled through the every growing pile to find 10 gems that just might be worth your time. We won’t steal his spotlight though, after all, he’s the one who tells it best.

Aladdin was my favorite, though I didn't hear very good reviews on The Ghostbuster video game. I could be very wrong though.

The first half of the ghostbusters game was one long contrived and tortured excuse to revisit places and monsters from the first movie. After they finally got all the rehash garbage out of their system, the rest of the game was really interesting. "The Ghostbusters 3 we deserved" shouldn't spend the first half repeating the first film verbatim.

Why not, the entirety of Ghostbusters 2 was a repeating the first film verbatim. If The Video Game was only half that, it's already up from GB2.

No, I actually mean verbatim. GB2 doesn't return to the exact same locations as GB1 and have the team catch the exact same ghosts as GB1. Slimer is back in the Sedgwick hotel, and you capture him in the same ballroom, Stay Puft shows up walking through the streets of NYC and you blast him from the roof of a skyscraper. Jesus, you even go back to the Library from the opening of the film.

Yeah, my biggest issues with the game generally revolve around it trying to rehash everything about the first movie.

Especially grating was the music. Look, I quite like the music from Ghostbusters, but it's basically tracks from the original score on a 10 hour loop. There's not a single original note in the game, and that was disappointing.

Now they did a great job nailing the feel of the proton pack. When you actually have to trap ghosts, it feels great.

Was it a great game? Absolutely not, but it was still fairly enjoyable despite the flaws and occasional show stopping bugs.

Still, I'd love if there was a good open world Ghostbusters game. I love the idea of Heist like missions where you actually have to observe and plan things out.

As a stand alone game, it was a solid B to B+ title. As a Ghostbusters game, it's fucking amazing.

I appreciate your feedback from chatty. I don't think, however, you should put a game you've never played as #2. Give it an honorable mention or something

Would Alien Isolation be considered for this list? Just curious. That was a good one.
