Chattycast 41: Mortal Kombat Spoilers

In which the gang steps in vats of gelatin to make realistic gore sounds.

This week, the gang distracts themselves from the upcoming Game of Thrones season by talking about burger restaurants, game tropes, Mortal Kombat X fatalities, Steam monogamy, and racing as an eSport. Plus they "spoil" Mortal Kombat X, if you consider talking about fatalities a spoiler for some reason.

Thanks as always to those who provided our topic suggestions this week: Horn, EvilDolemite, dael, jingletard, Hemtroll, and the man with the briefcase. If you want see your name in lights, keep an eye on Chatty to suggest topics! And, special thanks to Chatty user dael for contributing music to the show, and to Bryan "Doctor Games" Carr for production assistance.

Off-Topic: Panel opinion of Five Guys?
Segment 1: I feel like we're still saddled by gaming tropes and gameplay formulas invented a couple generations ago. Panel's thoughts?
Segment 2: I liked the uppity responses in the Chatty over the brutality of Mortal Kombat fatalities. Talk about that because reasons.
Segment 3: How do you feel about the increasingly common refusal to buy PC games unless they're available on Steam?
Segment 4: Fighting games, MOBAs and First Person Shooters are pretty established in eSports, do you think racing games should be another genre to have an increased eSports presence?

I'm not sure if I would consider fatalities as a spoiler. I figured you guys meant story spoilers at first.

If we spoiled the actual story right now, NetherRealm would find us and perform actual Fatalities on us.

Also I don't actually know any spoilers.

Andrew and Steven might I guess. But they don't name the episodes.

Yeah that's why I was confused at first before I checked out the link; I wouldn't think you could even talk about any of the story right now.

Ed Boone can actually do the "levitate your guts out" move, as one unfortunate NetherRealm intern learned.

In regards to the support question, I was specifically talking about customer support. Steam customer support has been the target of much criticism, both from customers and in written articles (for example: ). It's a fairly common opinion that Steam is lacking in the customer support department, I myself had one incident where it took them four business days to respond to my ticket regarding some account issue that was preventing me from buying games. They also seem to be very anti-customer in the sense that they'll gladly sell you any half-finished Early Access game but they don't want to offer refunds or ensure the quality of their products.

Meanwhile, Origin has live chat support that I've had to contact four or five times for various issues and every single time the issue has been solved within minutes of getting in touch with a customer service agent. They also offer that great game guarantee where they'll refund anything within 24 hours of launching the game or 7 days after buying it.

Yes, it's all hearsay and opinions but it doesn't take much more than a quick google search to find tons of horror stories of bad steam support.

That must be it, because In-N-Out is the greatest here in CA.
