Epic Games has taken a few more hammers to its free-to-play third-person shooter/builder hybrid known as Fortnite. Now the studio is looking for some additional player feedback, kicking off the game's second alpha today.

For those that need a friendly reminder, Fortnite sees teams heading out to reclaim their homeland from the monstrous threat known as the Storm. While the world is treacherous by day, hordes of foes will come out at night, requiring heavy weaponry and fortified bases to ward them off.

Sign-ups for the alpha are still open on the Fortnite website. The second alpha will run through April 14. Those that have yet to get into the game can still check out Epic's progress with a Fortnite live stream, set to air on the game's Twitch channel today at 1PM PDT.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
