While regular host Steve Watts is still discovering the joys of fatherhood, substitute host Ozzie Mejia has flown back from this year's Game Developers Conference in time for another week of gaming discussion with Steven Wong, Daniel Perez, and Josh Hawkins. This week, the panel breaks down the pivotal announcements to emerge this week from GDC and PAX East in this week's opening before diving into the topics of the week from the Shacknews Chatty community. This week, the topics go from virtual reality, to Cities: Skylines (along with some discussion about this week's closure of Maxis Emeryville), to video game movies that should have been amazing, but were definitely not.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it.
