PlayStation Plus DriveClub is 'still being looked at'

Waiting for the PlayStation Plus version of DriveClub to be released? Well, you might very well be waiting forever.

Those who were hoping for their PlayStation Plus version of DriveClub may never be able to get behind the virtual wheel PlayStation Europe’s president, Jim Ryan, gave no definitive answer when asked about its future release.

During an interview with Metro, Ryan says the PS Plus version of DriveClub is “still being looked at.” When asked directly if he could guarantee it would still be released, his reply was that he could not say anything at the time of the question.

The PlayStation Plus version of DriveClub was delayed in early October due to the game’s continued server issues, which was then outright postponed indefinitely in late October. To hear neither Sony nor Evolution Studios have come up with some kind of solution four months after DriveClub’s release is extremely disheartening.

Well, it looked pretty cool from what I've seen. I wonder if this is due to promising a free game to PS4 owners, not delivering because they actually wanted to make money off of it, realized no one was buying it because people are still waiting for the free version, and now have abandoned it because they're not going to put more money into it.

this will not end well with sony. unless they're waiting to release it when project cars drop. they publicly promise something to drive PS+ subscription and then says, nope lol? i won't resub until they deliver on that promise.

Sony screwed the pooch on this one, but PS+ is still a fantastic value without this one game.

i wish they'd just scope down their original promises and get it out there. it's a fun game and could use the PR boost by having people actually play it.

At this point there will be a third Forza game out before that game is finished.

On the plus side people who did eventually buy it got a ton of free extra content. There's far more to do than I have time for at this point. It's a great looking racing game, if you feel like racing cars it's just as fun as the other options and better looking to boot.

In other busted AAA game news Halo: Master Chief Collection Has Been Broken For 100+ Days Now

Fun fact: the folks at developer 343 Industries created an achievement called "Stick With It" for players who stuck with the game... an achievement that's bugged and currently won't unlock.

I wish I hadn't pre-ordered this digitally. I just don't even play the single player, let alone the multiplayer.

I just rented it from Gamefly bcs all I wanted was Halo 2. I had to leave the game/console on the entire time after it lost a ton of single player save game progress.

Yea, I heard about the single player issues and I didn't play any further. The MP was so busted I wasn't trying to play it much. I just wish I had that $60 to spend on something else. It was spacebucks anyway since I didn't actually pay money for the amount I had on my account, but oh well. Maybe I'll get around to it one day.

Much like Driveclub, the issues were mostly post-launch. These two games, along with ASS Unity is why so many sites are modifying their review process.

Their sever architecture must be so bad that it must be prohibitively expensive to get it to support the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of users that would be injected if they released it for free on PS+.

I mean it blew up for like 2 months with just the paying customers.

I feel like this game should just be pulled and taken back to the drawing board, like FF14 was. Such a colossal fuckup.
