Tripwire Interactive is expected to re-enter the world of Killing Floor in the near future with the official sequel, but that's not all that the developer has planned for their horror game. In an effort to further flesh out the game's narrative, Tripwire and film production company Type AB released a live-action short film called Killing Floor: Uncovered.

Killing Floor: Uncovered looks into the origins of the Killing Floor series. It takes place years before the original game and looks into the rise of the Horzine Biotech corporation. While an activist group tries to get to the bottom of the company's machinations, they get more than they bargain when they are faced with the genetic experiments that dwell within Horzine Biotech's walls.

The short film serves as quite the introduction to the Killing Floor world, so give it a look below. For more about Killing Floor 2, the actual game, Tripwire is expected to reveal more information at the upcoming PAX East event.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
