Console users that are looking to drive their tanks into the next generation will soon be able to do so. The acclaimed free-to-play tank-busting game World of Tanks is making the jump from Xbox 360 to Xbox One later this year.

World of Tanks on Xbox One will feature spruced-up visuals, while remaining the same experience as the current World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition. In fact, both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions will feature cross-platform play, meaning players across both versions can play on the same servers. Progress and unlocks can also be carried forward for whenever the Xbox 360 user is ready to jump to Microsoft's new console.

An exact release date for World of Tanks: Xbox One Edition has not been given. For more, be sure to check out the World of Tanks website.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
