The Crew feels a need for new Speed Live Update

The Crew is getting its next free content update today with the new Speed Live Update, along with some new cars in the not-so-free Speed Car Pack DLC.

Following last month's Extreme Live Update, Ubisoft's The Crew is getting its next major content drop today. The Speed Live Update is at the starting line and hitting the track with some new missions and a whole new PvP mode, while the accompanying Speed Car Pack DLC adds some new vehicles.

The Speed Live Update adds the new Eliminator PvP mode. Eliminator will see two to eight cars compete on a lengthy track. The player that is in last place across each checkpoint will be eliminated. The race will continue on until there is only one racer standing.

Eliminator will join four new faction missions, all centered around the speed theme. The Dave Z mission will see players try to beat the clock in the Badlands. The Branchu Loop mission puts players in a high-stakes race in the middle of the desert. The Point of No Return is a straight-up drag race against a mystery opponent. Finally, there's On Thin Ice, which puts players on a tightly cornered track with no grip. The missions will also be accompanied by new tuning specs, body paint, and sticker options.

The new cars in the Speed Car Pack DLC will include the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series, and the Alfa Romeo 4C. These cars will run for $7 a piece or as part of The Crew's Season Pass.

The Speed Live Update is available now for no extra charge. For more, check out the video below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
