Xbox One screenshot feature teased by Phil Spencer

The long-awaited screenshot feature for the Xbox One was teased over the weekend by Xbox head Phil Spencer.

Xbox One owners who have been desperately looking for ways to share screenshots will soon be able to do so if a recent tweet from Xbox head Phil Spencer is any indication.

“Nice to finally be doing this on my Xbox One dev kit,” reads Spencer’s tweet. The feature he’s referring to is the Xbox One’s ability to take screenshots, which he admits in follow up tweets has been one of the top requests from users.

The screenshot Spencer took shows the long-awaited feature available within the Xbox One’s menu that comes up when you double tap the Xbox button on your controller. The screenshot feature should be a simple button press away, similar to the console’s ability to record video.

Whether or not the Xbox One will also feature a voice command to take a screenshot on the fly is yet to be seen, although considering you can control much of the console using voice command, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t implemented when the feature is released.

Agreed. I've been using my PS4 much more than the Xbox One because it makes it much easier to share content.

The Xbox One has needed this feature for a long time.

Yup. It's funny, I never use the share video feature but I really like the screenshot feature. Was surprised it was missing one Xb1.

I use the screenshot feature way more, too. Sometimes a video can take too long to set up since you need to cut it up and then use filters and such. A screenshot is extremely painless in comparison.
