A new Fat Princess wasn't among the games anyone expected to see at PlayStation Experience. But not only was Fat Princess Adventures announced, it actually turned out to be pretty fun. To learn more about what to expect in the series' sophomore effort, Shacknews spoke to Fun Bits Interactive creative director John Mundy.

Mundy talks about expanding the Fat Princess IP, what the PlayStation 4 has opened up to the team, and applying the fatness mechanic to a new genre. He also talks about some of the sights, both familiar and new, that Fat Princess fans should expect to encounter. And of course, Mundy goes into the game's unique sense of humor.

"We are an irreverent game," Mundy said. "We like to stand alone in that category."

Check out the full interview below. Fat Princess Adventures is coming soon to PlayStation 4.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
