Shadow of Mordor 'Lord of the Hunt' DLC stalks its prey today

It's time to unleash the beast within with today's Lord of the Hunt DLC for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

If you own Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, perhaps you noticed a recent update. Along with the usual bug fixes, this update adds support for the new Lord of the Hunt DLC, which is available today.

The Lord of the Hunt DLC was previously detailed at the end of October. A new story will see Talion team up with Torvin the Dwarven Hunter to tame all-new monster additions, like the Wretched Graug and the Caragath, and take the fight to Sauron. New Beastmaster Warchiefs will also debut, with the ability to engage in mounted combat. Other additions include new Runes, trophies, Beast Hunting challenges, and a Lord of the Hunt character skin for Talion.

The Steam Announcements page notes that the new Lord of the Hunt DLC will require slightly higher specs, so keep that in mind if you're picking this up on PC. The Lord of the Hunt DLC is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 as part of the game's Season Pass. For more on the add-on content, check out the new trailer.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
