Killer Instinct gets prehistoric with Riptor on Wednesday

The demonic dinosaur Riptor makes her return to Killer Instinct this Wednesday for Ultra Edition owners of Killer Instinct.

Killer Instinct is going back to the stone age for its latest combatant. The reptilian Riptor is making her comeback to the fighting game series, with Iron Galaxy announcing that she would hit the Xbox One-exclusive fighter this coming Wednesday for Ultra Edition owners.

The reveal comes courtesy of Gamespot. Riptor is enhanced with Ultratech's cybernetics, allowing her to unleash a number of pouncing, biting, and tail-whipping attacks. And yes, she breathes fire, as well.

As has become custom with these trailers, the next combatant was teased. This time, the tease saw Jago getting knocked around by an invisible force, followed by the ominous quote, "Bow before the herald of Gargos!" This not only teases a new character, but also seems to tease the return of Killer Instinct 2 big bad, Gargos.

Look for Riptor to arrive this Wednesday if you own the Ultra Edition of Killer Instinct: Season 2. Those that own the Combo Breaker edition will have to wait until December 23.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
