Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster heading to PS4 in spring 2015

Get ready to experience the remastered version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 yet again. Square Enix will be bringing the recently released title onto the PlayStation 4 next year.

Square Enix has officially announced Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 in spring 2015 just days after a leaked listing for the game was outed on the Internet.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be made available as both a digital download and a packaged retail product and will retail for $50. The remastered titled will feature “system-exclusive features,” although Square Enix doesn’t go into detail at this point what those features are.

For those who missed the remastered version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 when this pack released on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita last year, this is an opportunity to catch up on your PlayStation 4. The game already offered some slick enhanced visuals and a rearranged soundtrack in addition to two great Final Fantasy stories, so it's hard to say just what improvements will be given to the PS4 version, especially since it’ll be releasing in spring 2015. But who knows? Maybe Square Enix has been working on remastering the remastered version for a while now.

Does anyone know / heard what Steam FF games will be coming? I know 13 recently came out - any chance there are rumors around that this will land on steam?

XIII-2 comes to Steam today, and Lightning Returns sometime soon (I'm guessing January or February). We don't know about any other releases, but I don't see why X/X-2 would be out of the question.

I think the most distant options are things like FFIX, which never saw a PC release previously (unlike 7 and 8), and hasn't been on a modern system of any sort.

That's a shame - I like IX, but now my options for playing it are extremely limited. My backwards compat PS3 died a few days ago (YLOD) - so - I can try and emulate it (I have it on disc) but PS emulation was clunky the last time I tried it.

I hope X/X-2 comes to PC though - and I'm excited for lightning returns, since I never actually finished it before YLOD

If you decide to get another PS3, those IX discs should work just fine. All PS3s have PS1 backwards compatibility, its just PS2 that's the issue. There's also a PSN download for $10.

PS emulation is fantastic, imo. I played a lot of FFIX and didn't have a single issue. Hell, PS2 emulation is fantastic as well and I highly recommend playing XII with PCSX2.

Dear Square Enix (if any of the employees happen to read this)- PLEASE give us FFXII Remastered (Vita,or any system will do) and FF Type-0 (Vita). I've already purchased FFX/X-2 (twice! PS2 and Vita!!!)

12 would have been awesome if Vaan wasn't in it. It had so much awesome potential. But really fell short for me.

Vaan was annoying - but humor me. One character made the whole game fall short for you?

I found the story a bit too Star Wars Esq, and I found the final boss to be insanely easy. Still though, the gameplay was amazing and the world was huge and felt huge (unlike a lot of the games to follow).

Sometimes one character is all it takes. How many people have sworn off Borderlands because of Claptrap?

Not me. I love the little guy.

yeah, I know - but it wasn't clear from her post if that is where she was going - or if there were other reasons.

I had read somewhere that the original main character was supposed to be Bosch but focus testing in Japan determined that people didn't want to play a 30 year old protagonist. Thus, Vaan was created.

If you look at Basch's story in the game, it seems to fit for him to be the main character.

12 is great. I know emulation is a grey area or whatever, but playing 12 on PCSX2 is an amazing experience. It looks and plays fucking fantastic. Increasing the resolution is enough to almost make it look like a modern game because the original art assets were so beautiful.

Yeah, I actually heard about the IZJS version on here... After I had put about 8 hours into the standard version. I couldn't continue on knowing there was a "superior" version out there. at the same time, the thought of losing 8 hours really bummed me out... So now I'm waiting till I'm over that so I can start over :(

i will take ANY SONY platform if they would just put it on the GAWD DAMN PSN Store!!

Job fiesta rules are dumb. Just pick jobs like a normal person.

        que es "job fiesta"

Final Fantasy 5 has this thing where you get a different set of jobs after getting to each crystal (there's 4), so the job fiesta is this yearly thing where you use a randomizer to assign yourself 4 jobs (usually, one from each crystal) and then play the game using only those 4 jobs, of which you must use at least one from each crystal you've unlocked by that point (so, you could have 4 warriors after the first crystal, but once you got to the second, you might need to make someone a dragoon or whatever).

He's saying you could do the same with 12 IZJS and have your party members each get stuck with their job at random. The problem with this is that there's far fewer jobs, and only a couple that get access to real healing spells, so randomly doing it could give you a party that's useless.
