Xbox One owners who prefer to watch others play video games rather than play themselves will be excited to hear the Twitch app will be receiving a major update today.
The update will include advanced filtering options, which allows Twitch users to be more specific about what they want to watch for particular games. The advanced filtering option uses Xbox Live’s real-time game stats, which means any game on Xbox One can use it. This option benefits new broadcasters as well as they can help viewers find your channel more easily based on their filtering.
Today’s update also includes the ability to follow whole games, search for specific people in addition to channels and games, manually selecting the stream’s quality level, and the inclusion of new, revamped profiles. Last, but not least, video on demand will also be included.
No word as to when the update will go live, but MIcrosoft says to expect it to be released some time later today.

The Xbox app is so much better than the PS4 app. I hope Sony moves away from their thing and uses the Twitch standardization one day.
