New God of War confirmed to be in development, for real this time

Alright - this time we received confirmation from Sony Santa Monica that a new God of War is in development.

We reported last week a new God of War was currently in development, according to a tweet made by series director, David Jaffe. At the time, it turned out he was playing a prank, but over the weekend, Sony Santa Monica creative director Cory Barlog officially confirmed what we already suspected for quite some time: a new God of War game is in development.

While Barlog was speaking during at a God of War retrospective panel, he revealed a new God of War was in the works, and it definitely would not be a prequel like God of War: Ascension was. Whether or not the next God of War would feature everyone’s favorite rage-filled protagonist, Kratos, was neither confirmed nor denied by Barlog, although he did say he hopes to share additional information regarding the title within the next year or two.

Yea - I can't imagine a God of War game without Kratos, so it'd be interesting to see what Sony Santa Monica has planned for this game.

I'd like to see them just go with a completely different set of Gods.

This is good news, but Are they still using Kratos? I supposed they have to. Its weird, they are a victim of their own success. In my mind, the Kratos story was told already anything else is filler.
Where else can they go. He fulfilled his revenge against the ALL the gods new and old for what he believed they did to his family.
Its a great story, a great game, but its completed. Is he taking on a new quest now or something? Well, lets see. Nothing is as powerful as avenging your family.
