Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be receiving its second batch of add-on content called the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught on December 16 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Steam.

The Holodome Onslaught features an all-new piece of narrative content that includes appearances from Vault Hunters Gaige and Axton, who recently returned to the Crimson Raiders HQ. Because of their absence during the events of the main storyline, they’re asking Athena to recount the story. Due to their absolute impatience, they want an abbreviated version, which means expect a lot of violent stuff and an explosion or fifteen.

Athena’s retelling of the story will have players playing through The Holodome Onslaught, which features a new challenge arena where you’ll fight wave after wave of enemies. The roster of enemies you’ll face include some of The Pre-Sequel’s most memorable badasses, as well as the inclusion of several new enemies. New weapons, class mods, heads and skins will be available to earn during your time within the Holodome.

The Holodome Onslaught will also include an additional Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack, which raises the game’s level cap to 60.

This piece of DLC will be included if you already picked up the Season Pass to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, although if you’re looking to pick it up by itself, you’ll be able to do so as long as you fork over $9.99.

In addition to the Holodome Onslaught, owners of The Pre-Sequel will be receiving a free patch some time next week that will add the ability to take part in a third playthrough as well as the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, which pumps up the game’s difficulty, scale enemies up to your current level, and allows you to reset your campaign progress at any time.
