Report: Microsoft files trademark for Battletoads

Could a Battletoads game be secretly in the works over at Microsoft?

It’s been 20 years since we’ve seen a new Battletoads game, but we might be in for a treat now that Microsoft has filed for a trademark for the game.

Members of NeoGAF discovered the document, which was submitted on November 5, 2014 and describes the patent as a “game software”. No other information besides the patent submission was given.

Microsoft has been known to revive a number of classic games onto its platform, the most recent being the Killer Instinct series which has done quite well for itself on the Xbox One. Although considering this trademark has popped up a week after we learned of the false trademark submission for Fallout: Shadow of Boston, considering me a bit skeptical at this point until Microsoft decides to tease their news or make an outright announcement.
