Nintendo Global President Satoru Iwata offered some new details about Xenoblade Chronicles X today for the first time since E3.

Xenoblade Chronicles X sees players exploring a vastly uncharted planet filled with hostile creatures. X is looking to expand its world significantly from the size of the world presented in the original Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii, starting from the hub world of New Los Angeles. While players will be able to explore the land on-foot, Iwata also detailed a newly-revealed Wii U GamePad navigation system. This nav system will allow users to explore the landscape without the stress of getting ambushed by giant creatures.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is still targeting a 2015 release window for Wii U. For the full presentation, watch the Nintendo Direct below and fast-forward to the 28:18 mark.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
