Rockstar responds to Grand Theft Auto 5 beta scams

Beta scams for Grand Theft Auto 5 have been going around for quite some time, which is why Rockstar has decided to release an official statement.

The current-gen and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 are releasing this fall, but Rockstar is issuing a warning to its fans of a potential online phishing scam.

Rockstar published a statement regarding ads and solicitations to join the pre-release beta test for Grand Theft Auto 5. The statement simply says “There is no pre-release ‘beta’ test for Grand Theft Auto V.” Rockstar warns, “If you see ads or solicitations to join a beta program, beware as this is likely some type of online phishing scam.”

I know PC gamers have been counting the days until the PC version of GTA 5 is made available, but hopefully you all have learned to be patient rather than falling for the promise of a “beta” version of the game. Especially when Rockstar has never announced a beta for the PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions.
