Smartwatches are slowly gaining in popularity as more of them are being released every couple of months. If you own a smartwatch, then you know the pickings are slim if you’re looking for actual games to play on your watch. But a video published on YouTube may very well sell some people to buying a watch that runs Android Wear now that we know it’ll be able to play Game Boy Color games.

Corbin Davenport was able to transform his Samsung Gear Live into a small Game Boy Color by tweaking his watch to run Android apps. He also set it up with a MOGA gamepad, which just so happens to be compatible with the “VGB” emulator.

This kind of setup may defeat the purpose of the watch’s portability when it relies on a gamepad to play, although the other alternative of using the small screen to input commands seems an even worse option. Either way, this is certainly a cool thing that I can’t wait to try for myself on my Gear Live later today.
