F.E.A.R. Online coming to Steam on October 17

The latest incarnation of the F.E.A.R. franchise arrives on Steam in a few short weeks, with the open beta set to start shortly before that.

It's been a while since Aeria Games has released any news on their upcoming free-to-play online horror shooter F.E.A.R. Online. Today, the publisher broke a long silence by revealing a release date. The game is set to come to Steam on October 17.

F.E.A.R. Online will open up new stories in the horror franchise. Players will be able to connect for four-player co-op and explore these new tales or they can opt to jump into the game's PvP modes, which includes F.E.A.R. 3's Soul King mode.

For anyone looking for some early scares, the open beta will begin on October 8. You can sign up for that on the F.E.A.R. Online website. For more, check out the Steam listing.
