Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is nearly here, and in case you didn’t catch our review published today, we can’t wait until Super Smash Bros. is released on the Wii U later this year. If you’re planning on buying a Wii U specificaly for Super Smash Bros., then you might want to consider this bundle that’s been spotted on NeoGAF users.

The Amazon bundle includes a copy of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U along with a GameCube controller, which is seen as the perfect controller to play the game on, and an adapter to connect it to your Wii U. The bundle will cost $99, which may be a little high considering you’ll use the controller to specifically play Super Smash Bros. with, that is, unless it’ll be compatible with other Wii U games. Since its announcement earlier this year, we haven’t seen any news regarding the GameCube controller and adapter being supported for additional titles.

If you prefer to wait to see if Nintendo bundles Super Smash Bros. for Wii U with the Wii U, we’d be surprised if they do it this holiday season considering they could probably see strong sales for both the system and console. We know a lot of you are waiting for Super Smash Bros. to buy a Wii U, and we’re sure Nintendo does as well.

To entice a lot of the people that skipped Brawl and went back to Melee.

Also, opens the door for GameCube Virtual Console sometime down the line.

Brawl was also played a lot on the Gamecube controller.

Its great that Nintendo's controller support goes back 13 years now

Why didn't this re-release of the GameCube controller include wireless capabilities? There are so many things that are just ridiculous to be honest.

I'd kill for a new Wavebird. That may be the all-time perfect controller.

No one used the wave bird when playing Melee competitively. All the tournament guys use wired controllers. Input lag in a fast paced game is no thanks. For average Joe is probably not a big deal

People want wired Gamecube controllers. The announcement of the wired adaptor hit r/all. Not supporting the old controller would have had backlash.

The Gamecube controller is vastly superior to the Pro Controller. That and riding the Melee Evo/documentary popularity train by getting Melee players back.

People love the pro controller partly because it resembles other popular modern gamepads

This, and it's so comfortable. It might be my favorite gamepad ever.

The tournament community hated the wave bird for melee. Input delay was a big deal in competitive smash. Everyone used wired controllers. I would guess that was a factor.

It's been up on Amazon since the 15th of September. I pre-ordered it immediately when I found out and I think it was a Shack chatty post that cued me in on it.

It was on Amazon in august. Probably just a slow news day.

Yeah, I've been putting off pre-ordering it since at least then.
