ArenaNet has announced that its MMORPG, Guild Wars 2, will begin a week-long free trial, starting this Thursday. The developer is offering up advance notice by two days, in case anyone wants to get a head start in creating their account and downloading the client launcher.

The free trial will kick off on Thursday, September 25 at 12PM PDT and last through Wednesday, October 1 at 11:59PM PDT.

Guild Wars 2 recently kicked off its Season 2 of the Living World arc. Though new dangers threaten the land of Tyria, the climax will have to wait until the season resumes in November. In the meantime, free trial users are welcome to some of the new features introduced earlier this month, including the improved Trading Post, new Wardrobe features, and additional Item Collections achievements.

For more on the free trial and to download the client, check out the Guild Wars 2 blog.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
