Square Enix is showing all things Final Fantasy at this year's Tokyo Game Show and that includes the long-awaited HD release of the formerly-Japanese exclusive Final Fantasy Type-0. The publisher debuted a new trailer at TGS, while also offering a release date of March 17 and an enticing carrot for would-be buyers.

The trailer shows many of the graphical upgrades from the PSP original, while also revealing bits and pieces of the action RPG's original story. Players will follow the story of Class Zero, fourteen military academy students defending their land from the invading Empire.

While the HD remake is looking good on its own, Square Enix is also going to attach a voucher for the Final Fantasy XV demo at no extra charge. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I wonder if this game is only coming to current gen systems simply because they planned all along to include a demo for FFXV, which looks too graphically impressive for the Vita. It (FF Type-0) doesn't look current gen at all. I'll still buy it, but I'd rather have a Vita version.
