It's one thing to pretend to be a pro baller and live vicariously through virtual avatars, but NBA 2K15 is about to take this idea to a new level. The latest iteration of the long-running franchise will feature an all new face-scanning feature that will literally put your face on a custom character.

The new face-scanning feature will utilize the Xbox One Kinect or PlayStation Camera, held 6-12 inches from a user's face for about 30 seconds. The camera will then map the full face and create a full 3D model. The head can then be shaped from there to create a full virtual doppleganger.

For more on this feature, be sure to check out the video below. NBA 2K15 will release on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on October 7.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
