Persona 5 also coming to PlayStation 4

Persona 5 will also be coming to PS4, in addition to its originally-announced PS3 version.

Sunday evening's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan brought some bad news for Persona fans in Japan. Persona 5, which was originally announced for late 2014, is seeing a delay until next year. However, the delay also means it will hit PlayStation 4, in addition to its previously-announced PS3 version.

No word on whether the delay will affect the North American release, which is still in line for a 2015 arrival. It'll be a while before Persona 5 hits either PlayStation system, but in the meantime, Atlus has offered up a new Japanese trailer.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I'm completely fine with the game being delayed if it means of becomes available on the PlayStation 4. Hopefully NIS can take advantage of the PS4's hardware rather than make it a port of the PS3 version.

Also, whoever thought this game was actually coming out in 2014, should have noticed all the other persona games coming out this fall. No way was atlas gonna try and compete with their own brand even if it was ready. Take all the time you need guys. I'll be here waiting.
