Nosgoth open beta weekend kicks off

Play Square Enix's multiplayer bloodfest all weekend long.

Square Enix's Nosgoth got some attention a couple of weeks ago at San Diego Comic-Con, taking central point at the company's Gaming Lounge just a few blocks from the convention center. But for those who missed it then, we've got some good news.

The publisher has announced that an open beta for the online multiplayer battle game will be launching this winter, and to celebrate, it's launching an open weekend starting today, where players will be able to head into battle through August 10th, free of charge! You simply need to head over to to register, and in you go.

All players take part in the weekend, including veterans, can earn double XP from each round they play, along with an exclusive badge that can be displayed in their collection.

So hop in and do your part. These vampires won't kill themselves.

Class based, team, third person arena...fighter. dark fantasy setting, vampires vs. humans. melee vs. ranged. Unique classes and weapons, perks, experience points...that sort of thing. It's pretty fun.

          Is it cool like L4D?

its a TDM version of L4D

it makes for some very intense 4v4s once you get the hang of it. The graphics are pretty and the characters are pretty diverse. I put about 20 + hours into it.

lack of maps and expensive items is a little bit of a draw back, but Ill put more time into it

Here's some people playing 4v4. They are dumb but they make me laugh sometimes. The view switches between players if you're getting confused.

It's a series but you have to click the link in the comments for the next video.

I swear some of the people on those yogcasts are reading from a script. A lot of their commentary does not at all sound spontaneous.

At this point maybe I don't even like LoK, I mean really, I enjoyed Blood Omen when I was like 12 and Soul Reaver 1 and 2 remain the only decent games in the series, and those were essentially 1 game anyway.
