Nintendo has detailed the latest update to its Wii U game console. While it's nothing particularly ground-breaking, it does offer a small convenience to those looking to transfer their data to another system, or shop without wielding the large GamePad.

Version 5.1.0 U features the ability to transfer software and data from one Wii U system to another, in case there are those upgrading to the Legend of Zelda bundle or some other system. Simply select the System Transfer option in the System Settings, and you can go from there. Previously, the system was only able to transfer from the Wii to the Wii U.

In addition, the update also allows gamers to shop on the Nintendo eShop using a Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote or Classic Controller, instead of just making your selections via the GamePad.

The only other updates included are "further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments," according to the company. The update should apply automatically the next time you boot up your system.
